Join us Memorial Day Weekend 2016 in our new home in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina as we celebrate our freedom and honor those who have served our nation.
As you plan your 2016 Memorial Day Weekend (May 27-30), we hope you'll join us for more and a greater variety of local food vendors, live music, artists and craft exhibitors along with other entertainment for all ages.

With the support of community focused sponsors, the WRAL Freedom Balloon Fest will remain an admission free festival dedicated to remembering our fallen military service men and women and honoring our veterans through a celebration of our freedom.

The official schedule is coming soon, so stay tuned. Here are a few highlights of this year's WRAL Freedom Balloon Fest.
We will invite the public to a mass ascension of all participating balloons, followed by a balloon "glow" just after sunset on Friday, May 27 as the festival begins. Events in Fuquay-Varina continue on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings with competition balloon flights. Each afternoon/evening spectators will enjoy a mass ascension and a balloon glow with a few of the balloons providing tethered rides benefiting charities.
When the balloons aren't flying, you're invited to enjoy a wide variety of North Carolina-based foods along with NC State Fair inspired foods, as well (40+ different food lines and vendors are planned), take in live local and regional musicians, field games for all ages, a Merchant, Arts & Craft Village presented by the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce, a Chef’s Challenge, and more.

The town of Fuquay-Varina (pronounced few-kway vah-reen-uh) is located in Wake County (2015 population 1,001,098) and is a 25-minute drive south of Raleigh, the capital of North Carolina.
